Linking to Learn

It is easy to become isolated and blinkered when working alone. We believe regional clusters of health workers could support each other, share materials, learn from each other and get excited about improving their effectiveness in their own health programmes.

There is no set pattern for a 'cluster'. Your own cluster will be unique, due its local leadership, and the cultural context. The CHGN team in the UK will support your ideas, but it will be up to the cluster members to develop the nature and purpose of their group, in order to serve their own particular needs. Clusters will be free to organise themselves as seems most appropriate in their context, but we would recommend that responsibilities are shared among members. Our hope is that cluster members will develop accountable relationships, to encourage improved performance and trust.

Cluster groups can use the Forum, to help facilitate cluster group communications.

The benefit of belonging to CHGN is that there is a great wealth of learning and experience amongst its members.

Our vision is to help resource those who feel isolated and under-resourced with tools, training materials and strategic connections. We are keen to reach as many community health workers as possible, even those without internet or phone access. Cluster activities are a good way to do this. It is important that members of clusters are kept informed of what is going on, especially if they have missed a gathering.

Please let us know if you would like to build a cluster, or if something similar already exists in your area which other CHGN members could join.
