The CHGN Uttarakhand cluster has been involved in relief efforts in Northern India, following recent flash floods and resulting landslides in Uttarkashi. We have had updates from J P Singh and Robert Kumar, who are part of the cluster and on September 12th were involved in the distribution of relief to the Bhatwari Block of Uttarkashi, covering 5 villages and approximately 600 families. The two day workshop kicked of with healing devotions with an introduction to the SALT learning method and application by Dr Ian and Alison Campbell. These two days were very successful, and useful in information sharing as well as gaining steps towards furthering the Bangladesh cluster.

Cluster Launch in Bangladesh

Author: Zannah Jeffreys
Date: 18.10.2010

For some time Dr Kris Prenger from LAMB Integrated Rural Health and Development and team members from Community Health Global Network have been planning and praying for this Bangladesh cluster gathering.   LAMB has kindly offered to host the cluster from the 4th-6th November 2010, so that 2-3 representatives from Christian health programmes working throughout Bangladesh can come together for mutual support, encouragement and training.

During the 3 days, there will also be time for networking, fellowship, discussion and project visits.  Over 40 participants, representing 16 community health programmes, have signed up and we are expectant that the time together will not only build their professional capacity, but also build trust and unity for future partnerships.
